Bowman, Barrett & Associates Inc. (BB&A) was retained to provide Field Consultant services for the City of Chicago for the Façade and Circulation Enhancements (FACE) Project for Terminals 2 and 3 at O'Hare International Airport. This project will rebuild the front curtain wall and public areas adjacent to the arrival and departure roadways.
Services during construction include: construction inspection, documentation, QA, administration and coordination of the contractor's work.
This project consists of a new canopy and roadway improvements and landside circulation enhancements at Terminals 2 and 3. The project is being completed without interruption to pedestrian traffic. The new improvements consist of demolition of existing canopy and sidewalk; construction of new upper level roadway canopy; canopy foundations; elevated roadway sidewalk reconstruction; new roadway railings and bollards; landside terminal additions including existing façade demolition; removal of existing vestibules; new foundations and slabs-on-grade; new curtainwall; relocated escalators; new pedestrian tunnel elevators, escalators, and stairs; new entrance vestibules and curbside check-in; and ATS Bridge circulation enhancements.
