The City of Naperville contracted BB&A to provide complete preliminary engineering services for the rehabilitation of the existing three-span, precast, prestressed concrete deck beam structure. Final design approval was given to use a special cast-in-place, post-tensioned, continuous concrete slab for the superstructure replacement and widening.
The goal was to design an architecturally-pleasing structure that complements both the surrounding residential environment and Naperville's Riverwalk.
BB&A performed a field survey, feasibility studies, bridge inspection and hydraulic/drainage studies for the City, in addition to preparing a Hydraulic Report, Bridge Condition Report, Project Development Report (including environmental studies) and Type, Size and Location (TS&L) Plans.
BB&A prepared final construction documents to include plans, special provisions, estimate of cost and estimate of time.
BB&A also provided Construction Engineering Services for the project.
