Vice President receives Young Civil Engineer Achievement Award
Chicago, IL - January 14, 2005
- Brian Umbright, PE, SE, a Vice President with the firm Bowman,
Barrett & Associates Inc. (BB&A), was selected to receive
the 2005 Civil and Environmental Engineering Alumni Association's
Young Civil Engineer Achievement Award from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This award recognizes a graduate
who has attained an unusual amount of success and distinction
by the age of 35.
The award will be presented to Umbright and two other recipients
at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Awards
Convocation Dinner on Friday, April 1, 2005 at 6:00pm in the
ballroom of the Illini Union. During the awards dinner, each
recipient will make brief remarks about their education or
experience as an engineer.
Umbright earned both an MSCE and a BSCE from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He joined BB&A as a Structural
Engineer in 1994. Umbright is a registered professional engineer
and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois. His affiliations
include memberships in the American Concrete Institute, the
American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of
Engineering Companies of Illinois and the Earthquake Engineering
Research Institute.
