Louis Bowman to Receive Transportation Award
Chicago, IL - December 10, 2007- The Illinois Section of the March of Dimes will honor Louis Bowman at this year's Annual Construction & Transportation Awards Luncheon, where he will be presented with its Transportation Award for his contributions to the industry and community. The event will be held Friday, April 18, at Soldier Field's Cadillac Club.
Bowman is co-founder and Chairman of the engineering firm Bowman, Barrett & Associates Inc. A registered professional engineer in Illinois and six other states, Mr. Bowman is also a registered professional land surveyor. He was recently named "2006 Civil Engineer of the Year" by the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. Bowman has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Road and Transportation Builders Association's (ARTBA), the Civil Engineering Alumni Association of the University of Illinois, Urbana, and the IRTBA's Planning and Design Division. He is a long-standing member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) and the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Illinois.
