In early 2003, The Chicago Department of Aviation retained the Bowman, Barrett & Associates led team of BPC Airport Partners to perform Master Civil Engineering services for the O'Hare Modernization Program.
Today, we are excited to report the following construction progress:
North Airfield Projects:
- North Airfield Traffic Control Tower
- North Detention Basin Pump Station and Spillway
- JAWA 90-inch Water Main Relocation
- Runway 9L-27R Paving, Lighting & Signing
- Runway 9L-27R NAVAIDS
- LLWAS Expansion and Relocation
- Relocation of Mount Prospect Rd. and Guard Post 1
- North Perimeter Road and Security Fencing
- Displaced Threshold Runway 14L
South Airfield Projects:
- Runway 10L-28R Extension and Taxiway Paving/Electrical
- Runway 10L Mass Grading, Central Basin and Pump Station
- Runway 10L NAVAIDS
- Runway 10C-28C Mass Grading (E) South Basin and Pump Station
- Airfield Vaults and Associated Duct Banks
- South Basin Site Preparation and Taxiway “Kelo”
- Interim Bensenville Ditch
- Interim Union Pacific Railroad Relocation and Cargo Access Road
The completion phase is now underway.
Runway 9L-22R is the first new runway built at O'Hare since 1971, when Runway 4R-27L was designed by our own founder, Lou Bowman.
