Bowman, Barrett & Associates Inc. (BB&A) provided phase I and phase II engineering services for the widening and resurfacing of the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) from IL-137 to Grand Avenue in Lake County, Illinois. This project also included the reconstruction of 8 bridges over both roadways and waterways, culverts, 6 retaining walls, and 5 noise abatement walls.
Further BB&A work on this project included the following:
- TS&L plans for bridges and retaining walls
- Identification, coordination, and monitoring of all permit requirements and issues
- Erosion control for all construction zones
- Maintenance of traffic and construction staging concept
- Development of corridor-wide design criteria and concepts
- New drainage structures and modification of existing drainage system
- Roadway lighting and signage
Engineering services provided include the preparation of plans, shop drawing review, response to contractor's requests for information, and disposition of peer review comments.
