Firm Announces Three Promotions to Senior Associate
Chicago, IL – October 29, 2004 - Bowman, Barrett & Associates
Inc. (BB&A) announces the promotion of Joseph Abruzzo, PE, SE; Jason Loo,
PE, SE; and Richard Stafford, PE to the position of Senior Associate with the
firm.
Abruzzo joined BB&A in 1993 upon earning his MSCE degree and his BSCE degree
from the University of Illinois at Champaign. He is a licensed structural engineer
and professional engineer in Illinois. As a Senior Project Manager, Abruzzo’s
work included design, inspection, evaluation and structural analysis
of railroad and bridge projects. Abruzzo currently serves on Committee
9,
Seismic Design
for Railway Structures for the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance
of Way Association.
Loo is a licensed structural engineer in Illinois and a professional
engineer in Indiana. He joined BB&A after earning his MSCE degree
in 1996 and BSCE in 1995 from the University of Illinois at Champaign.
His responsibilities
as a Senior Project Manager included supervising staff engineers and
technicians, designing, reviewing and analyzing new and existing structures,
and ensuring
compliance with codes and standards. Loo is active in many professional
organizations, including the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois.
Stafford joined BB&A in 2003 as the Civil Department Manager. He
is a licensed professional engineer in Illinois and received his BSCE
degree
in
1985 from
Michigan Technological University. He has over 18 years of experience
specializing in operational and design aspects of transportation engineering,
including
operational
analysis, alternatives development and plan preparation. Stafford is
an active member of the Transportation Research Board (TRB)--Committee
Member
A3A08 "Operational
Effects of Geometrics." He is also the co-author of a chapter in the Traffic
Engineering Handbook (5th edition) entitled “Geometric Design of
Highways.”
