Railroad Services
BB&A has a design department that exclusively
performs railroad bridge design work. We are often the first firm
contacted to consult on emergency railroad bridge repairs for our
clients. The railroad design team has over 100 years of collective
experience to employ on railroad bridge projects. This experience
allows us to complete a wide variety, both in size and difficulty,
of design projects more efficiently.
Our railroad client base includes Class 1 railroads, commuter rail
systems and public agencies. The services we typically provide
include:
- Bridge and foundation design and rehabilitation
- Construction
observation
- Construction phasing
- Cost estimates and planning
- Foundation and stability of soil slopes
expertise
- Railroad bridge inspection and capacity
analysis
- Railroad intermodal yard design
- Retaining wall design and rehabilitation
- Track design
Several members of the BB&A railroad team serve on American
Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA)
committees. We encourage AREMA membership for our team and believe
that it is an excellent opportunity to help the railroad industry
improve its infrastructure in a safe and cost effective manner.
AREMA membership has also assisted BB&A in staying current
with railroad standards and learning about new industry technology.
